Unfair Tax Plan – Should Wealthy Americans Pay More Taxes?
Clarence Darrow has said that “True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.”
Vice President, Joe Biden has said that those Americans who are wealthy should pay a larger share of income taxes than they are now. It’s the patriotic thing to do. I ask why? This is an unfair tax plan! No, I am not among the wealthy here in America, nor have I ever been. One doesn’t get wealthy teaching in a small, rural community for 33 years. But my sense of justice has been riled up over this.
Right now, about 40% of Americans pay no income tax at all, while 5% pay the majority of taxes, something like 90%. Obama has pledged to cut income taxes to 95% of Americans, but wants to raise taxes on those earning $ 250,000 a year, the very ones who are paying more than their share right now. In fact, Obama wants to tax this group enough to pay for nationalizing health care, and in spite of the fact that he is proposing to spend trillions $ more in the next few years, he is pledging to cut the deficit in half in two years, this while planning also to cut the deficit with taxes from the wealthy.
I’m sorry, but this math just doesn’t jive. And if it did, it is blatantly an unfair tax plan.
Another unfair policy about to be voted on is this Omnibus Spending Bill that will give something like 15% of the $ 405 billion total to illegal aliens for jobs. THAT’S OVER $ 60 BILLION TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN AMERICA UNLAWFULLY. $ 60 BILLION THAT SHOULD BE GOING TO AMERICANS FOR JOBS.
Now, my sense of fairness is really on the rampage. I hope yours is, too. Fairness aside, I believe this (unfair) tax plan will shut down much of the independent entrepreneurial spirit that has run American business since there has been an America.
This group of Americans is under attack, those earning $ 250,000 a year, the “wealthy 5%”, are the very ones who own and run small businesses. They hire millions of Americans, give us goods and services to purchase, and are the backbone of American business. If this group is unable to continue to run their businesses because of burdensome taxes, if these firms go under, there will be millions more people jobless. So not only must we consider that fairness of our taxation system, but also the practical side as well.
Mike Huckabee, former presidential candidate and Fox Talk Show Host, has proposed a complete overhaul of our tax system, namely a flat tax of 15% on what we buy. Do away with thousands upon thousands of pages now in the tax policy. So simple, so easy, no more trauma on April 15th. No more paying large fees to experts to figure a person’s taxes. No more tax loopholes that benefit some and not others. AND BASICALLY SO FAIR! Everyone pays the same tax, even illegal aliens. I mean if they are going to be here, and I see no push to get them out of America, and if they take advantage of our health and education systems as they do now, then they, too, should pay taxes. THINK ABOUT THE BASIC FAIRNESS OF THE FLAT TAX PLAN as opposed to the unfair tax plan that is in place. IT WOULD SOLVE SO MANY PROBLEMS. I’D VOTE FOR THAT!

Question by Made_in_America: Why don’t all the liberals who want higher taxes donate to the government?
You can pay additional taxes but I sure don’t see the liberals writing checks. If they feel that strong about it and want more taxes, why don’t the donate money to the government?

See, this meme gets old. The result of raising taxes will mean that we WILL be writing checks to the government. We just think that everyone should participate in the healing of our economy. You know, loving America and all that.

Why I Used Peoria Movers
Article by Vikram Kuamr
I used Peoria movers because Peoria is a distance away from Chicago and no one I knew wanted to move me that distance. To hire a truck to go to Peoria from Chicago would have cost me quite a bit of money. Park Ridge movers were a bit cheaper but I was not moving to Park Ridge, but to Peoria. Usually, I found that the greater the distance that you move, the more it ends up costing. Peoria is a haul from Chicago so that costs more than moving to Park Ridge, which is not that far from Chicago when compared to Peoria.
I have always wanted to move to Peoria and know some people out there. Since I work at home, it did not make sense for me to pay the high taxes that are in Cook County so I decided to move further down state. Since I grew up in the Chicago area all of my life, I knew it was going to be strange to move to Peoria, but I decided to give it a try. After all, what did I have to lose when it came right down to it? I like Peoria and did not feel so alone in living in this part of the state.
The move to Peoria was pretty easy because I hired the movers. They made everything a lot easier for me and really took quite a bit of the stress from me. I think that moving is one of the most stressful things that you can do. Most people will equate moving with death and it is up there on the stress ladder. While of course it cannot compare to the death of a loved one, moving is a stressor. I wanted to eliminate the stress from my life so I decided to do something about it and hired movers to help me rather than try to do this on my own.
Even If I was living in Park Ridge, I would still want to hire movers to do the job. The more that they can do, the better off I am, that is the way that I figure it to be. They came in and gave me a fair price for the move and I cannot say that I was disappointed at all. To the contrary, I would heartily recommend them for any type of moving that has to go on. Anyone who is thinking of moving in the state of Illinois can call this company and get them to give them a quote. They can even visit them online so that they can see the type of services that they offer as well. I am more than pleased with the service that I received from this company and will always recommend them to anyone else who I know is moving In Illinois.
I am very happy now living in Peoria and even found a boyfriend living in this part of the state. As it happens, he and I went to high school together. Who knew that such as strange and wonderful occurrence could happen so far away from home?
If you want to live in Peoria, Illinois, then you can hire Peoria Movers to get you there. You can also find Park Ridge Movers as well when you go online to New City Moving.
Question by Hellooooooo: Why do some presidents want to tax us more and others see no reason to raise taxes on the people?
I mean shouldn’t every person who takes in money all year long, just pay something at the end of the yr? Why should the middle class pay all the taxes? You know they say that about church offerings, only some of the people pay in when all are there and received something from the church services. Don’t all get something out? Then why shouldn’t all pay into the program?

You are a wonderfully sensible person and I couldn’t agree more. How can we have a healthy, vital nation if there isn’t “commonwealth” for roads and bridges, for services like police and firefighters, for setting and maintaining standards like corporations have to obey the law along with Wall Street and professionals like doctors, lawyers, teachers? The more we act together in funding for the “commonwealth” the higher our quality of life. Those people who rail against all taxes are very shortsighted and think only of the material aspect. Like California in 1978 passing the Jarvis amendment that severely limited property taxes. Before 1978, California had the best schools, roads and services of any state in the nation. Slowly but surely, I’ve watched it disintegrate. I just wonder if Californians are wise enough to see the correlation and what the cost of selfishness has done to their quality of life.

Why I hate income tax refunds
Article by Albertazimovnew
Refunds: They’re wrong!
It’s hard to get that through to my clients. But refunds are bad.
Sure, it’s exciting to get a check from the Internal Revenue Service. Well, actually, it’s from the Treasury, but you know what I mean. That misses the point, however.
It’s not like you’re gaining anything. That money was always yours. The feds are just giving it back. And that’s the point.
How to file income taxes electronically
When you get a refund, what that really means is that you’ve given the federal government an interest-free loan. You’re just getting your money back.
In fiscal 2009, more than 96.7 million Americans received tax-refund checks, with an average refund of $ 2,683, up slightly from the year before. No matter how you do the math (for those without calculators, it’s more than $ 259 billion), that’s a whole lot of interest-free dollars.
An offer you can’t refuse?
Jeff SchnepperPeople just don’t learn. They want that check from the government. But I can give you the same deal.
I hereby offer to allow anybody reading this to send me money. I’ll take cash, checks, money orders, even food stamps. Send me as much as you want. And I promise — on my word as MSN Money’s tax expert — that I’ll send it back to you in April, without interest.
It sounds silly when you put it that way, doesn’t it? But it’s no different than getting a tax refund from the IRS.
Some people argue that refunds are a great way to save money. If they never see the dollars in their checks, it’s easier to put aside money for, say, that big-screen plasma TV they’ve been drooling over.
What if you can’t pay your taxes?

Open your eyes, financial fool! That’s what payroll savings deductions are designed to do. Increase your retirement-plan contributions. Buy savings bonds. Or just put an extra $ 50 per paycheck into a money-market fund.
Here’s what I’ll do. I’ll up the ante on my original deal. Not only will I give you your money back, but I’ll add a whopping 1% to your original contribution. That’s more than money-market funds are paying. You can’t beat that kind of deal.
Aim to withhold just enoughIf I can’t entice you with my “deal of the decade,” what should you do?
Aim for the safe harbors. That’s the minimum amount you have to pay during the year to avoid any interest and penalties. There’s no interest or penalty if any of the following apply when you file your return:
You owe less than $ 1,000.You’ve paid in at least 90% of your 2010 liability. You’ve paid in at least 100% of your prior year’s total tax. On your 2009 return, that was Line 60. Go check it as you begin planning your 2010 return. If your adjusted gross income (Line 37 on your Form 1040 for 2009) was more than $ 150,000, you need to pay 110% of your total tax, rather than 100%. So if my 2009 adjusted gross income was $ 160,000 and my total tax was $ 10,000, I’d need to pay 110% of that, or $ 11,000, during 2010 to hit that safe harbor. If I do that, there’s no interest or penalty to pay, regardless of how much I owe on April 18, 2011.
If you’re paying through withholdings, they are deemed to be paid evenly during the year, regardless of when they are remitted. I have some clients who have nothing withheld during the first 10 months and then meet their safe harbors with November and December withholdings.
If you’re making estimated payments, they need be equal or, if your income varies substantially during the year, proportional to the income earned during each quarter. So on a simplistic basis, if I have $ 100,000 in income earned and $ 40,000 was earned in the first quarter, I’d need 40% of my tax paid in during that quarter. Technically, it’s called the annualized income installment method, and it’s a bit more complicated than my example.
See Form 2210 (.pdf file) for the required computations.
If you expect to owe additional taxes, it would be prudent to put those dollars into a money market fund (or send them to me) until needed. At least that way, as opposed to increasing your payments to the IRS, you’ll get the interest. Just make sure you hit one of the safe harbors.
And don’t get any more big refunds. Refunds are BAD! BAD! BAD! Trust me on this.
